Sure, hundreds of possibilities went through my mind.
All the turns my story could take.
But, I am writing romantic comedy.
My story needed to give the reader all the feels and make them laugh till their ribs hurt.
More importantly, it needed structure.
Thankfully the authors on the Udemy course had come through, yet again, providing me with a template for a story skeleton.
A story skeleton is basically summing up what your story is about in a few sentences.
It’s divided into three parts:
- The set up which works as the beginning
- The conflict, and journey through that conflict
- Finally, your resolution.
I found that building my story around these clear-cut sections was good for a beginner like me.
